Celebrating the 4th of July

We started our 4th of July with an early morning train ride. The kids loved it.

Next, we had a picnic at Bridal Veil Falls.
Rylee asking Nolan to share his chips with her!
Trace didn't have a bike or scooter so he just pushed the stroller!
Thanks Sierra for giving Trace a ride.
We finished celebrating the 4th with some yummy food and later fire works.

Mom and Son Date Night

Trace and I had our first official mom and son date night!  Dinner and a movie, minus the dinner (we ate at home)... okay, actually I just decided to take Trace for his first movie in the theater experience.
I am happy to report, for 2 1/2 years old, he did great!
M&Ms were his choice of treat, they are a favorite of his (as is most anything chocolate!)

Our movie of choice: Wreck-It Ralph!
Although it had a few scary moments for Trace, we both loved it!

(Our pictures didn't turn out so great, but it was a fun night out to a movie anyways)

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
From a chicken, bumble bee, two dinosaurs, and a pirate princess!
Rylee (chicken) and Harper (bumble bee)

Trace wasn't exactly excited about Halloween!
"Off"
Everybody Smile!

After a few doors though he warmed up to it.
He even got the hang of saying "trick-or-treat", "candy", and "thank you!"
(thanks to Avery, showing him how its done!)
M&Ms were a favorite!

Happy Halloween 2012!
(As always, should have taken more pictures!)

Rylee's Big Accomplishment

Guess who's rolling over!

No Blanket Left Behind

Trace has 3 favorite blankets.  A brown one, a green one and a yellow one.  They are just baby blankets so I guess its a good thing he has more than one so they actually cover him up at night.
He doesn't have to have his blankets all the time but if he does want them he wants all three.  There is no leaving a blanket behind.
It actually works out perfect when he snuggles up next to Rylee on the floor to watch a movie- he has one blanket to share and two to keep for himself!

Welcome Welcome

Rylee Marie Walter
Born November 24, 2011
Weight: 6 lbs 14 oz
Height: 19 inches

Rylee decided to join us on Thanksgiving Day!
Her entrance into the world was... quick!  I guess I expected I would have more of a warning that it was time to head to the hospital (like when I had Trace).  But this time we barley made it.  We were getting ready to head over to M.Jay's for our Thanksgiving Feast when I started feeling contractions (1:00pm).  I continued getting ready and was foolish enough to think I would still get to eat my Thanksgiving meal!  But the contractions were coming too close together, so instead of heading south to Payson (M.Jay's place), we headed North to American Fork (our hospital).  It was a pretty scary drive from then on and by the time I got to the hospital (3:15ish) I was fully dilated.  Rylee was born at 3:49pm.  It felt like a mad dash to get her here but once we got her everything has been nice and calm.  So far she is a relaxed, easy going, sweet baby girl!

Trace wasn't super interested in Rylee at the hospital.  There were other things that caught his eye, like the buttons on the bottom of the bed or getting a snack from his bag!
But once Rylee came home with us he became very interested!  For the most part he is dealing with the new addition very well.  He loves to give her kisses!

Looks like we are going to have a keep a close eye on these two!  Rylee is in for a treat with a big brother like Trace.
